The 7th edition of the European Summer School on Microfluidics will take place at:

UCL East is located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, a modern, vibrant district in East London with excellent national and international transport connections.

Travelling to UCL East (Marshgate Building)

Below are recommended travel routes depending on where you are coming from in London.

🚆 Option 1: Arriving via Stratford Station (Recommended – Fastest)

Stratford Station is one of the best‑connected transport hubs in London, serviced by:

• Greater Anglia & National Rail

Walking route from Stratford Station to Marshgate

1. Exit the station toward Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
2. Follow signs to the London Aquatics Centre.
3. Walk past the Aquatics Centre and continue over the pedestrian bridge.
4. Turn left and follow the lane lined with trees.
5. The Marshgate Building will appear on your right after a 5–7 minute walk.

🚉 Option 2: Arriving via Stratford International Station

Stratford International is served by:

• DLR
• High‑speed Southeastern services (domestic)

Follow signs to Stratford, then continue following the walking directions above.

🚊 Option 3: Arriving via Pudding Mill Lane (DLR)

Pudding Mill Lane is one stop from Stratford on the DLR and ideal if connecting from East or South‑East London.

Ticketing Options in London

1. Contactless Payment (Recommended)

Use your contactless debit/credit card or smartphone (Apple Pay / Google Pay).
Simply tap in and tap out on Tube, DLR, Overground, and Rail.

2. Oyster Card

Still widely used and available at all stations.
You top it up and pay per journey with daily caps.

3. Travelcards

1‑day or weekly Travelcards are an option if you expect to take many journeys.

No check‑in/check‑out apps are required — London’s system is simpler than Copenhagen’s.

Arriving at the Marshgate Building

Once you arrive at 7 Sidings Street, enter through the main doors of the Marshgate Building. The Summer School team will be present to welcome you and direct you to the meeting area.
